Melissa's Story
Melissa loved her job as a tour and travel consultant in one of the most well-known travel agencies in town. She was not only well-traveled herself but she also liked to read about different countries and understand the local traditions and culture. She was great with people and managed to handle even the most difficult requests and complex itineraries with great skill and ease. On top of this, Melissa loved to write and she used to write the sales copy for many of the company’s travel brochures. No wonder, she was considered one of the most valuable employees of her company.
However, things changed quite a bit when Melissa and her husband, Steve became the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl they named Coral. Melissa found that she enjoyed every moment that she spent with her daughter, so much so that she seriously starting thinking about quitting her job. Finally, after giving it much thought and discussing it with Steve, Melissa decided to become a stay-at-home mom. And though she was extremely grateful for all the time that she could spend with Coral, Melissa nevertheless missed her job. Soon, Coral was off to school and Melissa found herself with some time on hand. She was still reluctant to take up a full-time job working out of home but wanted to do something in her spare time.
One day, Steve brought home his boss Ethan Dreer and his wife Joyce, over for dinner. After dinner, the Dreers mentioned how difficult they were finding it to plan their trip to the Bahamas. Melissa suggested a few good places they could visit and what they could do while in the Bahamas. The Dreers were so impressed that they requested Melissa to take up the assignment of arranging the trip for them, and that they would pay her for her time and efforts. Pleasantly surprised, Melissa managed to arrange their trip within just a few days. The Dreers came back from their trip, absolutely thrilled and were full of praise for Melissa. In fact, they even mentioned that quite a few of their friends and family wanted Melissa to help them in their tour arrangements.
Melissa knew she had found the solution to what she could do from home – she would start an online tour and travel agency that would not only help those who needed help in planning their trips but also act as a travel resource site for people all over the world.
Within just a few months of starting her online agency, Melissa’s years of experience and initial days of hard work paid off. Her site was flooded with clients from all over the nation, wanting Melissa’s help in planning their tours but there were also many from foreign countries who needed tips or helpful advice!
