When a satisfied customer sends in an email or writes to you saying how satisfied he or she was with your product or service, immediately ask if you have permission to use the testimonial.
Place these testimonials in prominent places on your website, any media releases that you may send out, advertisements that you place and brochures that you design.
If your customer is kind enough, you could keep their contact details on record to pass on to prospective customers who want to know more about your product, from people who have actually used it.
This can also work in the reverse manner.
You could send in your positive feedback to another home-based business owner telling them how their product or service helped you.
They, too, would appreciate testimonials about their product and will most likely feature your testimonial just as you would, on their website. When they do so, they will place a link back to your site.
In fact, when you write to the owner, you may want to clearly state that that business owner is free to feature the testimonial on their website and/or on whatever promotional material they deem fit.
