Using Classified Ads

Classified ads are certainly one of the most inexpensive ways in which you can promote your product or service.

Many home-based businesses are aware of this fact and yet they fail to make effective use of it. The problem is, many business owners try to actually sell their product through their advertisement – the limited space available makes this a tough task to handle.

A two-step process:
The best way to use a classified ad would be to treat it as a a two-step process:
  1. First, design a classified ad that is simple, clear and comes straight to the point about your product. Readers should immediately know what phone number to call or email address to write to.

  2. Next, when the customers actually call the number or write to the email address, they will either hear a very powerful sales message about your product or receive an autoresponder sales message. This will contain all the details about the various features of the product, and customers can either send in an order or respond with their contact details.

You should understand that people who go through classified ads are looking for specific products or services. As such, you have to convince the readers of the specific benefits of your product.

Use your words wisely, not so much to save money, but to be precise about what your product offers to your customers.

How to design an effective copy:

In order to be able to design an effective copy, begin by writing down all the beneficial features of the product or service you are selling. From these select a few that you think will interest your customers the most.

Also, try to come up with a powerful heading that will immediately indicate what the most significant aspect of your product is.

Give a few more supporting details and then finish with a request to the customer to contact you for more information.
